If you can't verify your identity, you won't be able to lodge your e-tax return online or use the pre-filling service.
Using 'shared secret' (unique) information
'Shared secret' (unique) information is specific personal information relating to you that is provided to us by certain organisations.

What if you can't find your notice of assessment?
If you've been issued with notices of assessment in the past five years but can't find them, and you can't use the 'shared secret' method, you can contact us and we can provide you with the details of your notice of assessment.
