Meet just one of the environmental criteria to claim fuel tax credits

You can claim fuel tax credits for fuel you use in a truck made before 1996, if you meet just one of the following environmental criteria:

  • you service the truck in line with the manufacturer's or generic maintenance schedules
  • the truck has been retrofitted with an engine manufactured after 1 January 1996 that meets the Australian emissions standards applying after that date
  • the truck is registered in an audited maintenance program accredited by the Transport Secretary
  • the truck has passed the 'DT80' test at a registered test facility.
