What kinds of records do I need to keep?

To support your claims for a fuel grant you need to keep records to show:

  • you purchased or imported the fuel
  • you are conducting business activities eligible for the grant
  • how you calculated the quantity of eligible fuel, and
  • that you accounted for any disqualifying uses, such as lost, sold or stolen fuel.

If you calculate your claim for a fuel grant based on your intended use of fuel, you will need to be able to show that your actual use of the fuel equalled what you claimed. Where it does not equal what you claimed you need to be able to show that you made an amending claim.
