The Tax Office needs objective and independent information to understand what people think, feel and do in relation to our services, products, and education. The Tax Office undertake a wide range of research, including surveys, product testing and user research. The information available here includes the results of some of the research we've conducted recently.
ATO Professionalism Survey
The Australian Taxation Office (Tax Office) currently conducts a biannual Professionalism Survey to evaluate Tax Office employees' level of professionalism as perceived by clients who have had an interaction with the Tax Office in the previous six months.
Business Perceptions Survey
The Business Perceptions survey (BPS) is conducted with business operators. It captures the views of businesses across the micro and small to medium enterprise (SME) segments.
Community Perceptions Survey
The Community Perceptions Survey (CPS) was first conducted in 1996 and has been run every year since. The purpose of the CPS is to capture trend data to monitor community perceptions of the Tax Office and its administration of the tax system.
