Welcome message

From the Deputy Commissioner, Large Business and International

Welcome to the September edition of the Large Business Bulletin.

Firstly, I would like to introduce myself - my name is Mark Konza and I have recently taken over as Deputy Commissioner, Large Business and International.

In this edition, we are looking at the recently released Large business and tax compliance booklet.

This booklet is our public commitment to large business. It helps tax managers, their advisors and our staff by providing guidance on how we work with large business. It also shows how we would like them to work with us.

The Large business and tax compliance booklet is the result of extensive consultation with large businesses to identify and address issues of concern to both business and us.

I thank the large business representatives who worked with us. We appreciate their time and effort, which is reflected in the booklet.

This edition also features our Compliance program 2010-11. This program outlines our areas of focus for the coming year: both areas of more support and areas of more examination.

The large business chapter in the program provides more details about our general approach to large business. It also includes information about the work we are doing on international cooperation and what attracts our attention.

These publications give you a full picture of what work we will be doing and how we will be doing it. I welcome any feedback you might have about either publication.
