Tax office supports Port Arthur Victims Appeal

The Commissioner of Taxation, Mr Michael Carmody, has announced today that gifts of $2 or more to the "Port Arthur Victims Appeal Committee" are deductible for income tax purposes.

    "Taxpayers should ensure that they receive a receipt for their donation and that they quote the full name of the above fund when claiming a deduction in their income tax returns", Mr Carmody said.
