Overview

If you are affected by a natural disaster we will work with you to help you sort out your tax affairs when you are ready.

We've set up a dedicated emergency support info line to make it easier for you. Call 1300 304 975 and one of our officers will discuss your situation and the best way we can help. If you receive mail from us that you are not ready to deal with, don't worry about it. Give us a call on 1300 304 975 and we can sort things out.

In an effort to ease the burden on people suffering personal and financial loss during natural disasters, we may extend the:

  • due dates for lodgment and payment of activity statements for people and businesses in disaster affected areas
  • lodgment date for fringe benefits tax (FBT) returns and payment for any FBT owing
  • deadline for superannuation guarantee charge statements.

We may be able to help by:

  • fast tracking refunds
  • giving you extra time to pay debts – without interest charges
  • giving you more time to meet activity statement, income tax and other lodgment obligations - without penalties.
