First home saver account notification of eligibility

Who should complete this form?

You need to complete this form and send it to us if all of the following apply:

• you were a resident for income tax purposes for at least part of the financial year
• personal contributions were made to your first home saver account during the financial year
• you do not have to lodge an income tax return for the financial year.

This will ensure you receive the first home saver account (FHSA) government contribution you are entitled to.

	If you lodge a FHSA notification of eligibility for the financial year, you will not have to lodge a non-lodgment advice for that year.

Are you an Australian resident?

You need to have been an Australian resident for income tax purposes for at least part of the financial year to be entitled to receive the FHSA government contribution.

In general, you are regarded as an Australian resident for tax purposes during the financial year if one of the following applies:

• you have always lived in Australia
• you came to Australia during the financial year and live here permanently
• you were in Australia for more than half of the financial year, unless
• your usual home is overseas, and
• you don't intend to live in Australia
• you go overseas temporarily and do not set up a permanent home in another country.
