Reporting on GST on property transactions

In order to understand the issues currently facing tax agents reporting GST property transactions, and identify ways the ATO could assist compliance, the ATO commissioned qualitative research with tax agents and relevant industry leaders.

The key objectives of the research were:

• Tax agents - to understand the issues currently facing tax agents reporting GST property transactions and identify ways in which the ATO can assist agents in meeting compliance obligations of their clients.
• Industry leaders - To explore GST related property issues from the perspective of key industry groups.
