ATO corporate plan 2023-24.

Last updated 26 July 2023

The ATO is the Australian Government’s principal revenue collection agency. We administer Australia’s tax system and significant aspects of Australia’s superannuation system. We administer legislation governing tax, superannuation and the Australian Business Registry Services, and support the delivery of government benefits to the community.

The corporate plan is our primary planning document and is prepared in accordance with the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act).

Each year, the ATO corporate plan outlines our focus areas and priorities for the financial year ahead.

Over the past few years, we have adapted and evolved to support the community through a time of significant change. We continue to undertake significant programs of work, supported by our smart use of data and digitalisation.

The ATO corporate plan 2023–24 includes 8 key focus areas that are strategically important areas where we must succeed in the year ahead, and a further 15 core priorities that are critical to our vision of being a leading tax, superannuation and registry administration. This will help us achieve our purpose of contributing to the economic and social wellbeing of Australians in the year ahead.
