If you indicated a preference to deal electronically with the Tax Office on your ABN Application form, your Keys and Certificates will be generated automatically by the Tax Office. The certificates will be issued in the name of the Public Officer or Authorised Person nominated on the ABN application form. The Keys and Certificates will be placed on a secure web site and held there until the Public Officer or Authorised Person visits the site to download them to their computer.

Before you download your Keys and Certificates, you will receive:

  1. An e-mail containing the web address (URL) that you will need to visit to download your Keys and Certificates.

  2. A PIC Mailer, delivered by Australia Post, containing the password you will need to access the Keys and Certificates website. It will also include your Personal Identification Code (PIC), necessary for when you decrypt and import the Keys and Certificates into the ECI software.
