Pay Electronically - Direct Debit

Direct Debit provides the option of having your tax liability electronically debited from your nominated financial institution account (savings or cheque accounts only). Before a Direct Debit can be applied, you need to complete and send a Direct Debit Request (DDR) to the Tax Office. The DDR gives the Tax Office authority to debit your nominated financial institution account. A DDR form is only available from a tax agent or accountant who is authorised to lodge information using the ATO Electronic Lodgement Service (ELS). Once the DDR is received, the tax agent or accountant lodges payment details, using an Electronic Money (EM) form, over ELS at least 3 working days before the due date of each Business Activity Statement.

Please allow at least five (5) working days before the date of the first payment for this process to be completed. You will only need to provide another DDR if you change your account details.

For more information call 1800 802 308 or e-mail eft-information@ato.gov.au.
