Overview of the Taxpayers' Charter

Increase text size Decrease text size

The Taxpayers' Charter (the charter) is our client service charter.

The charter sets out what you can expect when dealing with us. It will help you understand:

  • your rights
  • your obligations
  • what you can do if you're not satisfied.

We also set service standards and report on our achievements against these.

The main charter document is Taxpayers' charter - what you need to know.

We also produce more information on some key areas of the charter. You can access this information through Taxpayers' charter - what you need to know or refer to The Taxpayers' Charter.

You can get a printed copy of Taxpayers' charter - what you need to know (NAT 2548) through the online publications ordering service or phone our Publications Distribution Service on 1300 720 092 and quote the NAT number.

Other languages

Taxpayers' charter - what you need to know is also available in other languages in portable document format (PDF).

Reviewing the charter

To ensure that the charter remains relevant to our relationship with the community, we monitor and review its content and effectiveness on an ongoing basis.

If you have any questions or comments about the charter you can email us.
