Cost of managing tax affairs

You can claim the cost of:

  • managing your own tax affairs, such as the cost of preparing your tax return or appealing to the court in relation to your tax
  • other tax expenses, such as providing information we request about another taxpayer and interest we charge on late payment of taxes.

The most common cost people claim for managing tax affairs is the cost of preparing and lodging their tax return and activity statements.
