Private health insurance

If you and your dependants have private health insurance, you may be eligible for a refundable tax offset. The amount of this offset is affected by the income level of the adult parties included in the policy, and can be received as:

  • reductions in your premiums through your health insurer
  • as cash or cheque rebates from Medicare, or
  • a refundable tax offset from us.
