Using phone lodgment

Our phone lodgment service uses natural language speech recognition (NLSR). NLSR allows you to speak in a natural and conversational manner, as if speaking to another person.

When you use the phone lodgment service:

  • speak as naturally as possible - there is no need to pause between words
  • answer each question by speaking into the phone
  • say 'help' to listen to the help topic about a question
  • say 'repeat' to hear a question again
  • you will be asked if you are ready to lodge; if you say 'no' you will leave the lodgment process and will need to phone again.

All calls to this service are recorded. If you hang up you may be able to reuse those details if you call back, but you will need to verify your details once again.

If you hang up before getting the receipt number, you may need to phone back to complete your lodgment.
