Electronic Commerce Interface (ECI) software

Overview

The electronic commerce interface (ECI) is a software application developed to allow the following functions to be completed online:

  • lodge tax file number (TFN) declaration reports
  • lodge pay as you go (PAYG) withholding annual reports, including:
    • PAYG withholding payment summary annual report
    • PAYG withholding where ABN not quoted annual report
    • PAYG withholding annual report - payments to foreign residents
    • Departing Australia superannuation payments (DASP) annual report
  • lodge Employee Share Scheme (ESS) annual reports
  • lodge or collect investment body reports, including:
    • Annual investment income report
    • Quarterly tax file number report
  • lodge superannuation reports, including:
    • Assessment variation advice
    • Lost members statement
    • Lost member search
    • Member contribution statement
    • Member exit statement
    • Payment variation advice
    • Reasonable benefit limits
    • Supermatch request
    • Unclaimed superannuation money statement
  • collect superannuation reports, including:
    • Lost member search result
    • Reasonable benefit limits
    • Remittance advice and recovery notice
    • Supermatch response
    • Surcharge provider assessment details
    • Superseeker portability form
  • lodge claims for the product stewardship for oil program
  • lodge first home saver accounts reports, including:
    • First home saver account activity report
    • First home saver account payment variation advice
  • collect first home saver account reports, including:
    • Remittance advice and recovery notice
    • Outcome of lodgment report
  • lodge multiple activity statements on behalf of others (forms R, S and T cannot be lodged using ECI).

Attention icon

Registered BAS agents, tax agents and large businesses are able to lodge activity statements using the BSP function through ECI. All other clients should lodge their activity statement using the Business Portal.

Get access to ECI

To use ECI, you will need an ABN, an AUSkey and access to the internet.

Complete the steps below for access.

  1. Are you a BAS agent?

      Yes - view instructions for BAS agents
      No - continue to step 2.

  1. Have you registered and installed an AUSkey for your business (ABN) onto your computer?
  1. Download ECI and install it on your computer.
  2. Run ECI.

      Windows: Start > Programs > Electronic Commerce Interface > ECI ClientV6.
      Macintosh: select the ECI ClientV5 icon from the location you saved it.
