Prescribed private funds statistics

A prescribed private fund (PPF) is a trust to which businesses, families and individuals can make tax deductible donations. PPFs can only distribute to deductible gift recipients that have been either endorsed by the Tax Office or are listed by name in the income tax law.

This document provides a summary of the donations received and distributions made by PPFs including details of the categories of the deductible gift recipients.

Notes to the table

The information in these tables will change slightly over time as outstanding returns are keyed in or other information comes to attention.

The total number of PPFs approved will not necessarily tally with those listed in regulations as regulations will not necessarily be completed until some time after the approval date (that is, the date the Minister signs the approval).

PPFs were not required to complete an information return for the 2001 financial year and were not expected to make any distributions. The 2001 information was provided in the 2002 information return
