Education tax refund

This measure will amend the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 to allow families to claim for certain costs of educating their primary and secondary school children where eligibility requirements are met.

The first claim for eligible expenses incurred during the income year 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2009 can be made from 1 July 2009.
