E-tax firewall configuration details

If you are a systems administrator and want to configure your firewall to allow access to the Tax Office website for the download of e-tax and for the verification and lodgment of e-tax returns, refer to the details below.

To download the e-tax software, access to http port 80 must be enabled:

http://www.ato.gov.au IP 203.202.41.1

For verification and lodgment, access to https via port 443 must be enabled:

  • https://verification09.etax.ato.gov.au IP 203.202.41.104
  • https://lodgement09.etax.ato.gov.au IP 203.202.41.103

Data is transmitted using 128 bit SSL encryption.
