A developed country disaster relief fund is a public fund that is established and maintained by a public benevolent institution. The fund’s sole purpose must be providing money for the relief of people in a developed country (other than Australia) who are in distress as a result of a disaster officially recognised by a Treasury minister. The relief may be by way of assistance to re-establish a community.
