About SuperMatch

Overview

SuperMatch is an electronic search facility that uses our electronic commerce interface (ECI) to provide super entities with information about their members':

  • active super accounts, where contributions have been received in the previous two financial years
  • lost member accounts recorded on the lost members register (LMR)
  • super monies we hold - for example, unclaimed super money or superannuation holding accounts (special account).

SuperMatch will help you to:

  • reunite your members with their super
  • initiate discussions with your members on consolidating their super accounts
  • request the transfer of some types of super monies we hold.

The Lost members register electronic search request also uses ECI to provide organisations other than super entities with information about lost member accounts recorded on the LMR.

Use of tax file numbers by super entities

You should be aware of the regulations on the use of tax file numbers (TFNs) before requesting information from SuperMatch. The regulations require a trustee to obtain a member's consent before using their TFN to facilitate the consolidation of accounts between fund or retirement savings account (RSA) providers. You must also have their consent when:

  • seeking information from our services (for example, SuperMatch)
  • contacting another super fund or RSA provider.

The application and agreement describe the conditions of access and use of these facilities.
