Super member tax file number notification - electronic reporting specification

Email to a friend
Printer friendly format

The Super member tax file number (TFN) notification is a report generated in response to the lodgment of Member contributions statements (MCS). It will allow you to continue to receive TFN data electronically when the surcharge provider assessment data (SPAD) file process is discontinued.

The Electronic reporting specification – Super member tax file number (TFN) notification version 1.1 does not apply to self-managed super funds.

You will be notified of the following:

  • correct member TFNs held by us, where you reported incorrect TFNs
  • incorrect member TFNs you reported to us, where we are not able to find the correct TFN for the member
  • correct member TFNs, where you did not report a TFN for the member and the member has authorised us to provide you with their TFN.

Although we are deploying the required software sooner, we expect to start transmitting super member TFN data according to this specification from late 2009, as some funds needed more time to adapt their systems to the revised format. Further information will be provided to you about what you need to do with the data when you receive it.

You may receive multiple notifications if you lodge multiple MCS during the year.
