The Tax Office's subscription services allow you to see when the Tax Office website has been updated with new or revised information. You can get the latest news, articles, fact sheets, media releases and speeches in one place, as soon as they are published, without having to remember to visit our site every day.

There are two ways of receiving our online news and updates:

  • really simple syndication (RSS) news feeds, and
  • email subscriptions.

Both methods provide you with current information on topics that you select. Examples of the topics you can select from include:

  • aggressive tax planning
  • information relating to businesses
  • information relating to individuals
  • information relating to tax professionals
  • online services including updates on latest Tax Office related scams
  • superannuation, and
  • careers in the Tax Office.

The main difference between the two methods is that RSS news feeds are sent out up to five times a day whereas email subscriptions are generated only once a day (or less frequently if this is your preference).

RSS news feeds

RSS takes the hassle out of staying up to date, by showing you the very latest information that you are interested in. RSS news feeds are generated five times a day and are a great way to be immediately notified of updated information.

RSS can save you time by bringing to your desktop lists of new information on topics that interest you. When one of the feeds (topics) you subscribe to is updated, you will receive an alert on your desktop. Most usefully, the headlines come with abstracts and links to the full articles so you can decide whether the item is of interest and, therefore, whether to read the full article.

RSS updates for the Legal Database are also available.

Email subscriptions

Email subscriptions allow you to receive regular email updates for categories of information (topics) that interest you. Email subscriptions are sent every day, week or month - it's your choice. This method of subscription is perfect if you wish to receive a complete snapshot of information released within a specified period. The email contains abstracts and links to the full articles so you can decide whether the item is of interest.

You can also subscribe to the Legal Database.
