SMSF member verification system

The self-managed super fund (SMSF) member verification system provides greater transparency when making super rollovers from Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) regulated super funds into SMSFs.

APRA-regulated super funds and their administrators can use the system to confirm if a member requesting a rollover to an SMSF is a member of that SMSF.

The system helps:

  • rollovers to be completed quickly by reducing the need to request additional documents, such as the SMSF trust deed
  • APRA-regulated super funds to have more confidence that a rollover to an SMSF is genuine
  • reduce the risk of fraud and other illegal activity.

The following information will help you provide system access to your staff members and super fund administrator, if you have one.

System access

To use the system, you will need to access our Business Portal using an AUSkey registered with the Australian business number (ABN) of your super fund, not your corporate trustee's ABN.

Check if your super fund already has an AUSkey before applying for a new AUSkey.

If you do not have an AUSkey registered with the ABN of your super fund, you can register online for an AUSkey.

To register an AUSkey for your super fund, you must be recorded on the Australian Business Register (ABR) as a trustee or director of the corporate trustee of the super fund, or be nominated by them to represent the super fund.
