Introduction

As part of the government's agenda to reform superannuation, the way funds interact with each other, with employers, and with us, is changing.

Although this information is specifically for super funds regulated by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA), some of the information also applies to retirement savings account (RSA) providers and self-managed super funds (SMSFs).

This information is to help you understand the super reforms being implemented over the next few years and to prepare for the changes. It also gives you information about what your members can see and do online.

SuperStream - the APRA fund experience in 2016-17 (PDF, 135KB) gives an overview of the range of services and improvements intended to be delivered by us for APRA-regulated super funds. It shows the key changes and intended benefits you will experience in 2016-17, once the range of SuperStream measures have come into effect.

Superannuation interactions and channels 2012-17: an APRA fund perspective (PDF, 322KB) provides detailed information about how super-related interactions are changing, by both channel and file format. We have confirmed delivery of items shown up to December 2013 with a proposed delivery schedule shown for the remaining items. This information is updated quarterly.

We welcome your reform-related questions. In addition to providing responses, we will use your questions to update this information and keep it relevant for you. Send your comments or questions to APRAfunds@ato.gov.au.
