Superannuation matching (SuperMatch) request

Super entities can use the below specification to work out if they have the system requirements they need to send their SuperMatch request including their member's super details to us electronically via the electronic commerce interface (ECI).

Once we verify your SuperMatch request we will start a data-matching activity, which matches your member's tax file number (TFN) and the member details that you have provided us with the records listed on the:

  • lost members register
  • super guarantee system
  • superannuation holding accounts (special account) system (active and inactive accounts)
  • super accounts (MCS) - all super fund held accounts reported to us where contributions have been received within the two previous financial years
  • super co-contributions
  • unclaimed super money.

Details regarding any matched records, including the total number of matches found, are then automatically compiled and returned to you via the electronic commerce interface (ECI) as a SuperMatch report.

Once a match is made, we can automatically transfer super credits.

Only super guarantee and superannuation holding accounts (special account) credits for active accounts will be automatically transferred via the SuperMatch report. Other credits must be claimed by the member or transferred by the member to their nominated fund.
