ATO to discuss the issue raised regarding the effectiveness of the Outcome of Lodgment Report (OOLR) for report lodgement reconciliation issues with Unisuper.

Status

Funds lodging reports (e.g. MCS, LMS, etc.) should utilise the Supplier file reference data field to uniquely code the report to assist the reconciliation of OOLR with reports lodged.

Funds confirmed that the default value being used in the original file creation date field of OOLR for co-contribution payment variation advices (PVA) will not be an issue while the ATO continues to process PVA's and release related OOLR's without delay. Funds advised they are generally receiving OOLR's within a week.

The ATO advised the form is currently being technically cleared and should be available in October 2011.

ATO to distribute Temporary Resident Unclaimed Super Money reason code flowchart to members

Paper copy distributed at SFWG meeting Wednesday 1 June 2011. Electronic version of flowchart attached to Draft 1 June 2011 SFWG minutes. It is expected the flowchart will be published shortly.

Unclaimed superannuation money - for superannuation providers

Members were encouraged to utilise the ATO "Subscribe" service, as it provides updates on various Superannuation (and other tax issues) including when specific forms are published.

Several examples were provided, but to date no response has been provided to Future Plus (Sue Pearce) and Sunsuper (Anne Dixon).

01062011/09 - ATO to consider inclusion of the member protection insurance could be included in the "Frequently asked Questions" document

Status

Completed The portability form information sheet issued in July 2011 advises there is no mechanism in the SuperSeeker tool for funds to reject applications, for example where the member's interest has been transferred to another fund or their account balance has been reduced to zero by fees - e.g. Income protection insurance. Funds should follow their existing protocol to inform the member of the outcome.

The SuperSeeker webpage provides information to individuals about the things they should consider before they choose to submit an electronic portability form. Existing entitlements including insurance is covered as part of this information

01062011/10 - ATO to confirm if threshold is to be applied to member accounts provided to funds in the Lost member provision of updated address program.

Completed The ATO confirmed in session that we are working to provide funds with records in accordance with requested thresholds and/or maximum numbers.
