Australia and Malaysia signed a new tax protocol

On 24 February 2010, Australia and Malaysia signed a new tax protocol. The third Malaysian protocol replaces the exchange of information (EOI) provisions in the existing protocol and came into force on 8 August 2011. The protocol expands the EOI article and aligns it to the current Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development standard.
