What to expect from your employer

If you are employed under the Pacific Seasonal Workers Pilot Scheme (PSWPS), your employer has certain responsibilities to help you meet your taxation obligations in Australia. These responsibilities are to:

  • withhold tax from your pay at a rate of 15 per cent
  • help you complete your 2012 income tax return before you depart Australia
  • attach a 'schedule of additional information' to your 2012 income tax return, quoting your Tax File Number (TFN) and your status as a PACIFIC SEASONAL WORKER
  • lodge your 2012 income tax return on paper only.

The PSWPS is administered by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR).
