You can obtain an electronic funds transfer (EFT) code from the Tax Agent Portal by following a few simple steps.

The EFT code is supplied by us to enable payments to be made by BPAY®, direct credit or direct debit.

If you require an EFT code for your client to pay an account by BPAY, direct credit or direct debit, the portal will automatically calculate the EFT code. The EFT code is used to ensure that the payment is posted to the correct client account and for the correct payment type. This code may vary from account to account.

How do you obtain an EFT code from the portal?

To obtain an EFT code from the portal, follow the steps outlined below.

From the home page of the portal:

  • enter your client's tax file number (TFN) or Australian business number (ABN)
  • from the Select the Client view drop-down list, select Payment options
  • select the Search button
  • at the Payment options account selection screen, select the relevant account
  • select the Go button
  • the EFT code will be displayed under the wording Electronic funds transfer (EFT) code
  • if you would like to access another account for that client, select the Change Account button.
