28 August 2008 - Tax Office update

Draft GSTD 2008/D2 was released for public comment on 25 June 2008. Several submissions were received in respect of the GSTD. The Tax Office is currently considering the submissions in finalising GSTD 2008/D2.

We are also developing a product to provide guidance on the Tax Office view on application of Division 72 to the scenarios raised in previous NTLG GST meetings.

2 September 2008 - Meeting discussion

Hoa Bertone joined the meeting by phone for this item, and walked members through the update provided with the agenda papers. She advised that a discussion paper would be distributed out of session on the Division 72 aspects before the GSTD on 'course or furtherance of enterprise' issues had been finalised.
