6. ATO Tax Practitioners' Forum 5 August agenda items

The ATPF would like member feedback in relation to the following issues.

a. Tax Time 2011

Do members have any processing or other issues?

Member feedback was that they have experienced a quick turnaround to date for 2011 lodgments.

b. Concerns about direct contact with clients of tax agents

Members said that their clients queried their agents why they were receiving letters directly. Members suggested that the wording in the letters be changed to for example, 'We are writing for educational purposes to help you correctly show your interest income in your 2011 income tax return'.

c. Update on Tax Agent Portal outages and system issues

Refer to action item NSWRTPWG 1104/16.
