Do you have to pay income tax?
Whether your not-for-profit organisation has to pay income tax will depend on whether it is exempt from income tax. Only certain types of not-for-profit organisations are exempt. Many are taxable and may need to lodge income tax returns and pay income tax.
Not-for-profit organisations must register for GST if their GST turnover is $150,000 or more. Various GST concessions are available

Temporary budget repair levy
As part of the 2014–15 Federal budget the government introduced a temporary budget repair levy. Individual taxpayers with a taxable income of more than $180,000 per year will have additional tax withheld by their employer, starting from 1 July 2014.
