    Commissioner’s message

    I’m pleased to present the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) Diversity and Inclusion Plan 2015-2017. This plan represents our formal commitment to an inclusive workplace.

    The diversity of our workforce is a great asset that helps us to deliver outcomes for the government and community by bringing together a broad range of skills and experiences that reflects the community we serve.

    As an organisation we have a responsibility to provide a safe, inclusive and accessible workplace, where the diversity of our people is embraced to generate new ideas and more effective teams.

    The ATO is committed to building a workforce culture where the diversity and inclusion principles outlined in this strategy are embraced in our everyday work and conduct and goes beyond procedural fairness and legal compliance obligations.

    An inclusive workplace is the responsibility of all ATO employees.
