  • AUSkey

AUSkeys are issued to people who work for, or who are associated with, a business in Australia. Each business representative that interacts with government on behalf of a business needs to register for their own AUSkey.

Using an AUSkey, ABN holders can submit information through a wide range of government online services using a single method of authentication.

The number of active AUSkeys increased to over 830,000 (growth of 11.1% compared to 2011–12). AUSkeys are being used by nearly 630,000 business representatives for over 416,000 ABR-registered entities.

This year we had a large increase in the number of AUSkeys expired or cancelled, up to approximately 239,000. This was due to a large number of AUSkeys issued at the commencement of the program in 2010 expiring.
