    We are accountable to our ministers and government and subject to external scrutiny. Our governance framework provides the structure for planning, reporting and decision making.

    Looking ahead

     
    • Include third-party views, effectiveness and efficiency as standard measures in the performance card of the ATO
    • Develop a clear statement of our vision for 2020, detailing our strategic intent, mission and strategies
    • Respond to the Australian Public Service Commission's capability review and implement our action plan
    • Make organisational and structural changes to refresh leadership and move functions for productivity gains
    • Broaden our fraud detection program, to address new and emerging fraud risks and vulnerabilities
