  • Corporate governance

The ATO is accountable to ministers, parliament and the community, and subject to external scrutiny. To ensure our performance and accountability is maintained, we are committed to governance arrangements and practices that support the Commissioner in leading, governing and setting the strategic direction of the ATO.

Specific arrangements are in place to ensure we align with the principles and objectives of corporate governance, including:

    • sound governance structures and frameworks
    • integrated fraud and risk management
    • open and transparent operations
    • efficient administrative practices.

By complying with accountability requirements in legislation and policy, and meeting public expectations of openness, transparency and integrity management, the ATO fulfils its corporate governance responsibilities.
