    Are you an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander who:

    • has recently left school
    • has completed a certificate course
    • is trying to get back into the workforce.

    Our Jump-Start program could be the career head start you've been looking for.

    It's 12-month employment program that lets you work on a casual basis (three shifts per week). Subject to successful progress in the program, candidates may be offered a full time role on a non-ongoing basis (up to 12 months)

    What we offer

    Our program offers you:

    • up to a 12 month program
    • initial three shifts a week with the opportunity to progress to a non-ongoing full time role

      • access to the Indigenous employee network and Indigenous liaison officers.
    • As a casual employee you will be paid from $29 per hour (plus generous 15.4% superannuation).

    Work placement

    During your work placement, you will develop new skills and build networks to help you develop your career. This role will assist you to:

    • be ready for and committed to a full-time job
    • be willing to interact with taxpayers
    • take responsibility for the quality and integrity of ATO records by accurately recording client details and interactions
    • action low risk queries and undertake a range of general administrative tasks
    • be committed to learning by taking part in training to meet the ATO's productivity and quality standards, including face-to-face and online training
    • use existing or newly acquired computer skills to use office systems and software applications
    • assist other ATO employees and be guided to undertake a variety of tasks that will help you develop your professional skills
    • work in a flexible environment and be adaptable to immediate and future challenges.
