  • Privacy notice – Trustee Day 1 notification

We are authorised by the Taxation Administration Act 1953 to request tax file numbers (TFNs). We will use the TFN and other information provided on the Day 1 notification form to identify the person who is deceased or under guardianship and the executor or administrator in our records.

It is not an offence not to provide a TFN. However, if you don't provide a TFN, there may be a delay in processing this form.

Where authorised by law, we may give this information to other government departments and agencies, including:

    • Centrelink
    • Australian Bureau of Statistics
    • Department of Education, Skills and Employment
    • Department of Social Services
    • law enforcement agencies.

We also provide taxpayer information to treaty partners overseas under international tax agreements.

Our privacy policy contains important information about a person’s privacy, including information about how you can access and seek correction of information we hold about you or the entity you represent. It also covers how to make a complaint if you think we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles and how we will deal with any privacy complaints.
