• Estimate of the LCT gap - overview

The LCT gap is derived by comparing the theoretical LCT payable with actual LCT payable for a period. The difference represents the LCT payable gap.

The estimated LCT gap for the 2010-11 year is $28 million. This equates to 5.2% of a total estimated theoretical LCT payable for 2010-11 of $541 million.

The LCT gap is an estimate for LCT payable only. The size of the LCT gap may change depending upon liabilities arising from credits for LCT paid. However, this does not lend itself to benchmarking against economic data.

    See our methodology for detail.
