  • Activity statement financial processing – one system for all tax accounts

During our December closure we plan to undertake a system change to move most taxpayer financial information into a single accounting system with multiple accounts covering the different taxes we administer.

The Activity statement financial processing (ASFP) change will transfer activity statement accounts and franking deficit tax accounts into the more modern accounting system we currently use for income tax processing.

This change is an important step in improving our digital services, delivering efficiencies and reducing administrative processes. It will assist us in delivering a reliable, contemporary client experience, and will provide us with a foundation for future service enhancements.

Clients and their intermediaries will see a number of improvements and functions available in some ATO online services. The existing service offer for the Business Portal won’t change, however displayed lodgment due dates will include any applicable electronic lodgment concessions.

During our closure, a number of our online services will be unavailable. You will still be able to report using Single Touch Payroll (STP), however these records won’t be processed and displayed until our systems are back up and running.

If you have obligations due during this time, lodge on time or early to avoid delays.

Our System maintenance page will be updated with planned system impacts. We will keep you informed through ongoing communication.
