  • R&D tax incentive – registrations podcast

The fourth episode of the Research and development (R&D) tax incentive Insights podcastExternal Link has been released by the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources (DISER).

In the podcast, Brett Challans from the ATO joins Kelly Wiggins from DISER to talk about the key considerations for companies looking to register for the R&D tax incentive and claim R&D expenditure.

    They discuss:

    • areas of eligibility companies need to consider when self-assessing
    • eligible R&D activities and expenditure
    • the type of record keeping and evidence companies should maintain
    • the registration process and common mistakes to avoid when registering, including the requirements for claiming costs for overseas activities.

If you're considering registering and applying for the R&D tax incentive, we encourage you to listen to this podcast and read the guidance material provided by DISER and us. This will help you to avoid some of the common mistakes we see when claiming R&D expenditure.

More information about the R&D tax incentive registration process and the registration checklist is available on our website.
