  • Large private companies and corporate groups to lodge RTP schedules from 1 July 2020

Based on the feedback received in response to our consultation paper, and with the support of the Private Groups Stewardship Group, implementing the expansion of the Reportable Tax Position (RTP) schedule to large private companies and large private corporate groups has been deferred until 2020–21 financial year.

We are now working with industry groups and advisers from the Private Groups market to co-design the RTP schedule for implementation in the 2020–21 financial year. We will continue to keep you informed as we move towards 1 July 2020.

    The RTP Schedule intends to:

    • provide a transparent mechanism for taxpayers to disclose their most contestable and material tax positions and inform us about areas of the tax law that may require further clarification/certainty
    • inform taxpayers of positions that we view as high risk arrangements.

You can read more about the Expansion of the RTP schedule to large private companies and corporate groups.
