Listed investment companies
Certain shareholders of a listed investment company (LIC) are entitled to a deduction for a LIC capital gain if all or some part of the dividend paid by a LIC is reasonably attributable to a LIC capital gain made by a LIC.
So, if you are a LIC, your distribution statement must include the following information:
- the share of the attributable part of the dividend
- the members who are entitled to a deduction for the attributable part of the dividend
- the amount of deduction that these members may claim.
