  • Correcting clearing house payment instructions

The Small Business Super Clearing House (SBSCH) is a service that allows you to pay super for all your employees through a single payment. The SBSCH then distributes the money to each employee's super fund according to your payment instructions.

We've seen an increase in requests from clients to amend incorrect period dates entered in SBSCH payment instructions. Here's how you can manage this without needing to call us.

If you're viewing payment instructions via the 'historical' tab in the clearing house, you can't amend the period dates as the payment has been processed. You will have to keep records that reflect the correct period date that was meant to be entered on the payment instruction.

Make sure you advise your employees if you entered incorrect dates for their payment.

If you can view the payment instructions under the 'Current' tab in the clearing house, it means they haven't been processed. To correct these instructions, you need to:

    • delete the payment instruction with the incorrect period dates
    • once deleted you need to lodge a new payment instruction with the correct dates.

Remember, registered tax agents can help you with your tax and super.

Check the SBSCH page for more information on how to use the clearing house.
