  • How the program works

    The Business assistance program offers tailored tax support over a 12 month period.

    After registration we will contact you three times by phone to help you understand your tax, super and GST obligations.

    Each check-in phone call is an opportunity for you to ask questions about the taxation needs of your business and develop greater knowledge about how to meet your obligations.

    Check-in one

    Within 48 hours of submitting the online registration form, you will receive a welcome email containing tax topics, links to useful resources and information about the program. This material will guide you on the type of support you will receive throughout the program.

    Check-in two

    Within three business days of registration we will contact you to discuss your business taxation needs.

    Check-in two includes some of the topics that may be relevant to your business:

    • GST and ABN registration
    • record keeping
    • how to create a proper tax invoice
    • when to charge GST
    • how to use
      • myGov
      • myTax
      • the ATO app
       
    • we will also discuss the resources sent to you at check-in 1 and provide further materials to help you address your business taxation needs.

    Check-in three

    The next check-in takes place four months later. This call is an opportunity for you to ask us about any tax issues you still are unsure about as well as clarifying any of the previous advice and help we provided.

    Some of the topics that may be relevant to your business include:

    • understanding your Business Activity Statements
    • hiring employees
    • PAYG instalments
    • superannuation payments

    Check-in four

    The final check-in takes place 12 months after registration. In this phone call we discuss:

    • how we can further help you to meet your tax obligations
    • any questions you may have about the support we have provided
    • your feedback on the program.
