How will you access the Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH) when it joins ATO online services in February 2018?

    Select your situation:

My tax professional lodges SG on my behalf

If you choose to use a registered tax or BAS agent, they can continue to manage your super guarantee (SG) obligations on your behalf through their online channel.

I’m a small business operator or sole trader with an ABN

Do you use the ATO Business Portal?

I already use the Business Portal

If you're using the Business Portal to manage your tax obligations, when the SBSCH joins the portal it will streamline your activities. You'll only need one logon to access both tax and super services within the Business portal.

The SBSCH will be available under the ‘Manage Employees’ menu in February 2018.

I haven’t used the Business Portal

The Business Portal is how businesses engage with us online. In February 2018, the SBSCH will join the Business Portal, where it will be available under the 'Manage Employees' menu.

You can access the portal now to familiarise yourself with its existing functions, such as preparing and lodging activity statements, managing your accounts, and updating your business registration details.

To access the portal you'll need an authentication credential that securely identifies you as being able to act on behalf of a business.

Do you already have an approved authentication credential?

    I have an AUSkey

You can use your existing AUSkey to login to the Business Portal and deal with us online. You’re ready to use the SBSCH when it joins the portal in February 2018.

The SBSCH will be available under the ‘Manage Employees’ menu as of February 2018.

I’m looking for an alternative to AUSkey

An alternative authentication credential you can use is Manage ABN Connections. Manage ABN Connections is a secure way to access government online business services, such as the Business Portal. It allows authorised individuals to connect ABN/s to their personal myGov account.

I don’t have an approved authentication credential

There are two authentication options you can choose from to access the Business Portal. The credential you choose will depend on your business requirements.

AUSkey provides you with an authentication that links to the device or USB you choose to download it onto. There are two types of AUSkey – Administrator and Standard. The administrator AUSkey provides the ability to manage AUSkeys associated with the ABN, including your own, and to register someone else for an AUSkey allowing them to use online services on behalf of your business.

Each AUSkey is linked to an ABN. There can be multiple AUSkeys for different people for the same ABN. You will need a separate AUSkey for each ABN you are associated with.

This authentication credential is restricted to the device or USB it’s downloaded to, and is unable to be used on mobile devices. AUSkey isn't currently compatible with:

    • Microsoft Edge
    • Chrome OS.

Manage ABN Connections allows you to connect one or more ABNs to your myGov account. You can then login to government online business services for both personal and business use. It can be used anytime, anywhere, and from any smart device.

To register you must be an associate of a business, or be authorised to act on behalf of a business.

You must be listed as an associate on the Australian Business RegisterExternal Link or authorised to act on behalf of the business to set up Manage ABN Connections or register for an AUSkey.

Once you have one of these credentials, you’ll be ready to use the SBSCH when it joins the Business Portal in February 2018.

I’m an individual WPN holder or a sole trader without an ABN

You can manage your tax and super in one place using our online services for individuals and sole traders. All you need is a myGov account linked to the ATO – myGov is a fast, simple way to access government services online.

A secure myGov account lets you link to a range of Australian Government services with one username and password.

The link to SBSCH will available on the home page once you have logged in.

I no longer wish to use the SBSCH

If you have a requirement to pay SG for your employees, but no longer wish to use the SBSCH, we recommend you contact your super fund to discuss alternative SuperStream compliant lodgment methods.

You could also contact your tax or BAS agent as they may offer this as part of their services.
