Calculators and tools
You may be eligible for a tax offset if you are a low income earner. You don't have to claim this offset - we will work it out for you when you lodge your tax return.
The Low income tax offset calculator will help you determine your eligibility, and calculate the amount of low income tax offset you are entitled to, for the income years 2012–13, 2013–14 and 2014-15.
The low income tax offset is only available to Australian residents for taxation purposes.

The low income tax offset can only reduce the amount of tax you pay to zero and does not reduce your Medicare levy.
If you are under 18 as at 30 June of the income year and you have eligible assessable income (unearned income), your low income tax offset cannot reduce the tax payable on this income.
All outcomes provided by this calculator are based on the information you provide and you should use them as an estimate and advice only. The exact amount of your entitlement can only be calculated upon lodgment of your tax return.
