• Spouse (without dependent child or student) tax offset calculator

In the 2015 budget, the government announced that this offset would be abolished from 1 July 2014.

The spouse (without dependent child or student) tax offset calculator will help you work out if you can claim this offset in your 2013-14 tax return.

The calculator will help you work out:

    • whether you can claim the spouse (without dependent child or student) tax offset
    • the amount of offset you can claim in your 2013-14 tax return.

This calculator will also help you to work out if you can claim for your spouse who is either an invalid or cared for an invalid.

What this tool does not cover

This calculator does not work out the offset for your spouse who is either an invalid or cared for an invalid for part of the year. You will need to refer to T7 Dependent (invalid or carer) 2014 to calculate the offset.
